What you can count on when you choose a piece on Find Me, and what happens if plans change.
Who We Are
Find Me (ABN 40 366 975 511) is at findme.gallery. Choosing a piece means you agree to these terms. The sale is between you and the maker. Find Me brings you together, takes your payment, and holds it until the maker has handed your piece over or sent it.
Paying
You pay on Find Me’s own pages, through Stripe. The card fee is added at checkout and shown before you pay. Your payment is held until the maker tells us the piece has been collected or sent, and is then released to them.
Every sale is paid through Find Me, never by bank transfer, cash or any other channel, so that Find Me can help if anything goes wrong. The maker is given your email so they can write to you, and writing to them about a piece is welcome.
Ready To Go, Or Made For You
A made-to-order piece is paid in two parts: half when you ask for it, and the rest when the maker says it is ready. Every maker writes their own cancellation terms on the piece.
Posting And Collecting
Each piece says how it reaches you: posted anywhere in Australia, collected from the maker, or either. Postage is shown before you pay. Anything Australia Post will not carry is collected.
Changing Your Mind
A piece that is ready to go. You are refunded in full until the maker has sent it or handed it over. After that, the maker may accept a return for change of mind, on the terms they have set out on the piece.
A piece made for you. Cancel with at least seven days’ notice before the maker begins and you are refunded in full. Once they have begun, a refund is at the maker’s discretion.
A piece made to your measurements, engraved, or made for you in any other personal way cannot be returned for change of mind.
If a maker cancels, you are refunded in full.
If A Piece Is Not As Described
A piece that does not match its description, is not of acceptable quality, is not fit for its purpose, or is unsafe is covered by the Australian Consumer Law, at any time, whatever the terms above. The remedy may be a repair, a replacement or a refund.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Raising It
Write to the maker first, as soon as you can after your piece arrives. Most things are settled there. If you cannot reach an answer, or the matter is about safety, write to withlove@findme.gallery and Find Me will help. If it still cannot be settled, your state or territory consumer protection agency, or the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission at accc.gov.au, can help.
How We Write To Each Other
Find Me is a place where people write to one another with care. We expect it of everyone here: buyers respectful and kind with makers, who are people running their own studios, and makers professional and kind with buyers.
Where Find Me’s Responsibility Ends
Find Me is not a party to the sale between you and a maker, and does not guarantee any piece. As far as the law allows, Find Me’s liability for any claim is limited to what Find Me kept from the sale concerned. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law stay whole.
Privacy
The Find Me Privacy policy is part of these terms.
Changes, And Law
When these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or on the site. They are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria.
