How Find Me gathers, uses and looks after personal information.
1. Our Care For Your Privacy
Find Me (ABN 40 366 975 511) is a gallery of makers at findme.gallery. We respect the privacy of every maker who shows their work here and every person who comes to find something they love. This policy sets out what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What We Collect
- Your name, your email address, and your delivery address where a piece is posted to you.
- Payment information, processed through Stripe. Find Me never stores your full card details.
- The details a maker gives us when they join: their name, the name of their studio, where they make, and their ABN where they have one. The bank details a maker is paid into are held by Stripe.
- Your orders, the messages you send through Find Me, and anything you write to us.
- Technical information such as your IP address and your device or browser, for security and so the gallery works well.
3. How We Collect It
We collect personal information directly from you when you open an account, show a piece, buy a piece, write to a maker or write to us. We also collect some information automatically as you use the site (such as cookies), and from our service providers (such as Stripe, when it confirms a payment).
4. Why We Collect, Use And Disclose It
- To create and look after your account.
- To take payments and hold them until a maker has handed over or sent your piece.
- So the maker of your piece can post it to you or arrange for you to collect it.
- So makers and buyers can write to one another.
- To answer you when you write to us.
- To meet our legal obligations.
- To make the gallery better and, with your consent, to send you news that is genuinely worth having.
5. Who We Share It With
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the gallery:
- The maker of a piece you buy, who receives what they need to get it to you: your name, a way to reach you about your order, and your delivery address where it is posted.
- Stripe, which processes every payment securely.
- Australia Post, where postcodes are used to work out what postage costs.
- The companies that host this website and carry our email.
- Government or regulatory bodies, where the law requires it.
We never sell personal information to anybody.
6. Overseas Disclosure
Some of our service providers, including Stripe, may store or process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information keeps being handled in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Keeping It Safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We encourage everyone to choose a strong password of their own, used only here.
8. Letters From Us
We write seldom, only when it is worth your time, and always with a way to say no more.
What makers receive. As a maker you may occasionally hear from us about things that genuinely help your work and your studio here. These come from Find Me itself, and your details are never handed to anybody else to send them.
What buyers receive. As a buyer you will hear from us about your own orders, and otherwise only occasionally, for something worth knowing about.
Our promise. We will never sell your email address or your details, and we will never share them with anybody for their own marketing. Every letter that is marketing carries a clear way to unsubscribe, and we act on it at once. We only send direct marketing with your consent or as the law otherwise allows, including the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
9. Seeing And Correcting Your Information
You are welcome to ask to see, or to correct, the personal information we hold about you at any time by writing to withlove@findme.gallery with the subject “Privacy Request”. We will answer within a reasonable time. If you have an account, you can also change your own name, email address and details from it whenever you like.
10. Data Breaches
If an eligible data breach happens that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, we invite you to write to us first at withlove@findme.gallery. If our answer does not settle it, you may lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
12. Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
13. Write To Us
For anything about your privacy, write to withlove@findme.gallery.
